What is an Oblate?
Oblates of Saint Benedict are Christian men and women who choose to associate themselves with a Benedictine religious community in order to strengthen their baptismal commitment and enrich their Christian way of life.
Becoming An Oblate
Christian men and women are attracted to the Oblate Program because they are seeking God in Jesus Christ and have begun to find Him. They hope to intensify their journey of faith through affiliation with Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church and Saint Vincent Archabbey through commitment to the Christian values manifested by the monks of Saint Gregory’s and Saint Vincent Archabbey and its Oblates.
Oblate Moderator
Fr. Cristiano Brito, O.S.B., a Benedictine monk and priest of Saint Gregory the Great in Virginia Beach and Reverend Mr. Kevin Gorman are the local moderators and points of contact for the local chapter of Benedictine Oblates in Virginia Beach. Benedictine Oblates meet the second Thursday of the month at Saint Gregory’s Damian Room at 7 PM. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
